I set up an iCloud icloud account for my 10 year old but when i did this it included a dot between his first and last name. I have added an alias to his mail without the dot, but i can't seem to get this alias entered into the iMessages "send and receive" setting. Is it possible to receive iMessages at an iCloud email alias?

Thanks for any help!

of course this is possible. This is what I am doing also.
After creating the alias you need to go to https://appleid.apple.com

Then in the menu on the left side go to "Personal Data" and then you have the option for "reachable under". You can add the alias here. You may need to verify it first with a code which will be sent to that alias.

As my Menu is in German I only guessed that the menu points are called "Personal Data" and "rachable under". But you will find it easily. Just make sure you use the appleid which you are using for iMessage and Facetime.

It worked! Much appreciation!
