Is anybody else experiencing problems with the iCloud email server (p02-imap.mail.me.com)?

I am able to send emails, but cannot receive, as "the server has rejected the password for the user".

Hope it's only temporary.

Alert

There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “**** *****” or try again.

The server returned the error: The connection to the server “p04-imap.mail.me.com” on port 993 timed out.

iCloud Email has been buggy and slow this week.

Works great today. I didn't notice that Apple Released iCloud beta 4. Before the update it works fine though. :D

Hi.
I had the same problem.
Try to change your imap server.
I used p03-imap.mail.me.com

Now, it works fine.

Are any of you that are using iCloud email having your read/delete/folder change statuses pushed down to your iOS device if you read/deleted/moved those emails using the web interface or your mail app on your MAC/PC?

The incoming email server p02-imap.mail.me.com is not working. p01-imap.mail.me.com is working. If you can't change the incoming email server in mail on your iCloud account, then:

1. create a yahoo/gmail account in mail
2. enter Mail preferences
3. enter iCloud account info into the gmail/yahoo account exactly as it shows in the iCloud preference pain (username, password, address)
4. enter p01-imap.mail.me.com as the incoming email server
5. restart Mail

This worked for me. You are basically using a gmail/yahoo account as a template to enter your iCloud info manually.

This didn't work for me. No matter what incoming mail server I change it to it still tries to connect to the p02.

Sorry, that fix is only a work-around. Different incoming servers seem to work for different people.

I had some password issues, but they seemed to resolve themselves. There must be something going on with the iCloud servers. A lot of people have been having issues these past few days. iCloud is still a beta, so it's understandable that things aren't perfect. Sometimes I hate being on the cutting edge of technology :(

well it's beta, they said it will be prone to outage, loss of data etc, it'll start working once they've done what they had to. this is why you shouldn't use it as your main account until official launch. I've got it running but don't use it yet for this very reason

Same issue. No matter what server I use, my password gets rejected. My iCloud email (sending/receiving) works fine on my iPhone.

It was doing something similar on outlook on mine since beta began, only intermittently. Apple are still putting things into place. Don't rely on it until official launch and move on....

Thanks, got it working with this.

I deleted my iCloud mailbox before I did this and forgot to write down the smtp server address. Does anyone have it handy? Please? Thanks!

Same problem here. It's not working on either of my computers running Lion, or my iPhone or iPad with iOS 5 Beta 4.

Hopefully they resolve the issue soon.
