iCloud Family Sharing

Hi,
I tried to search, but no success.
Now I'm running off my iCloud 50GB quota. My wife has 50GB plan too. We are both using iCloud Photo Library.
I want to upgrade to 200GB plan and start sharing this quota to my wife and then stop paying her 50GB iCloud plan. What will happen with her iCloud Photo Library? Will it automatically "switch" to family shared space?
Or should I download all her photos to her iPhone (she is using optimize storage option), then turn off iCloud Photo Library, downgrade her plan to free 5GB and after turn on iCloud Photo Library?

Your wife’s photo library should switch to your shared storage when she accepts the family sharing invite. You’ll be able to tell when her photo library is using the shared family storage by you going into Settings > Apple ID > iCloud. You’ll see a chunk of your storage taken up by Family (See attached images from my own settings).

Once you’re confident that your wife’s photo library is using your family shared storage, your wife can cancel her individual storage plan.

As ever, it always helps to have a backup just in case of loss, either to another device or a second cloud provider.

In addition to the above, in terms of the switching process, if you share a storage plan with a family member who already subscribes to a paid storage plan, they will receive a notification asking whether they want to keep their current plan or start sharing your plan.

So, I made change yesterday. It was very smooth and with no problems. I upgraded to 200GB plan, sent invitation to my wife. She accepted it, in Settings canceled her 50GB plan and that´s all. Everything is OK. I had prepaid 50GB for almost 3 weeks, so Apple just charged me difference between 50GB and 200GB.

Good to hear it all went smoothly. Having everyone’s photos backed up and available in their entirety is a feeling that never gets old.
