Does or can iCloud save game data, so if I decide to delete a game and reinstall it will it pick up where I left?

I have games that I don't want on my phone, but don't want to delete all my progress. Was hoping iCloud would fix this, but don't know how to do it.

Nevermind. Figured it out, the answer is YES YOU CAN

iCloud Settings on iProduct and manage backup.

that's not totally right, once you delete the app and then update, your backup will be overwritten and your save will be lost.....

for game saves backups, the apps need to be updated with the Documents in the Cloud API to do game saves, Doodle Jump got an app update with iOS 5's launch enabling just this thing.

So when I get my iPhone 4S on Friday I will have all my data on Doodle Jump stored in the iCloud? And whatever apps have not been update to iOS 5 will not be able to transfer game saves to iCloud.

If the games are on the backup on icloud they will restore to the new device
