From what I've seen so far, it's limited to the Apple iWork apps at the moment.

Hopefully more to come soon...

Open an app, such as Pages, on the Mac.

Go to Save As, and then from the dialog box, drop down the "Where" and icloud should be one of the options.

do you have 'documents & data' ticked on in your icloud system preferences?

I have "documents & data" ticked in my iCloud preferences. But iCloud is just not appearing in the finder, thats why its not a saving option on anything.

I am however still using iWorks 08

icloud doesnt appear in my Finder, which is somewhat of a disappointment

but I think updating your iwork apps will solve your immediate problem

iCloud does not show in the Finder. It will show as part of each individual app. Try opening TextEdit and see if you have it there. It requires iWork 09

Ahh ok, that explains why its not working. Text edit works with iCloud alright.

I'll have to think about updating iWorks to the new version of it. Would it work if I just purchased Pages 09 as an individual app from the appstore instead of getting the entire new iWorks package?

Thanks for your help guys btw

Yeah you can get the individual apps from the App Store.

If you can save any file in textedit like that someone will develop an app soon that will work like dropbox?
