Hi all, hoping to get some help.

I am an iCloud user. I would like to be able to access and actively change contacts and calenders on iCloud on my work PC (Windows 7) through Outlook 2007 WITHOUT syncing my personal emails. I don't want my personal emails on my company's server and hard drive. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I don't recommend tying your personal iCloud account to a work computer. It's mainly because I want to keep stuff separate. I don't want personal calendar events showing up in the company calendar and I don't need company calendar events and tens of thousands of company contacts leaking over into my personal space. That's just my preference. Also depending on your employer, they might not want you having your personal iCloud login on a work computer. OTOH, I can log in to gmail on a work computer so I can see everything there but that's just in a browser and doesn't risk mingling personal and company data. (Our company IT blocks icloud.com so the only way I can access it is from home. )

If I had a work Mac (I can only wish...), I would create a separate iCloud login for it. Then I would export those personal vcards I need to access when at the office and import them to my work iCloud account.

Hopefully this isn't a thread hijack, but I'll soon be in a similar quandary.

I'll be getting a new (new to me, that is) MacBook at work. At home I have an iPad and iPhone. One AppleID for iCloud and iTunes. I might get a MacBook Air next year, but right now these are my only devices. I use my iPad at work on a daily basis - Notability, Appigo ToDo, etc.

I can see myself wanting to buy some apps (that work won't pay for) for the MacBook. This presents a couple of problems/questions. (Note that I'll be new to MacOS)
1. I can see wanting to sync stuff across all devices - Reeder, Appigo ToDo, etc. For Mac apps that can sync with iCloud, is it correct to assume they use the AppleID tied to the MacBook itself? Can I selectively choose what iCloud features MacOS uses? (So I'd be able to sync across only the apps I desire, but not iMessage, calendars, photostream, etc)

2. Since work won't pay for apps, I'd want to buy stuff under my personal AppleID. This will also so let me use them on a future personal MacBook purchase. Are there any implications that I'm overlooking by doing this?

I don't have any concerns over restrictions over Internet access or what apps I can use on the MacBook, nor would it be shared with anyone else. I'm just hoping there is a sensible way to keep personal and work things separate, while being able to buy stuff with my own AppleID.

Any experience or guides would be great. Thanks!
