Tonight I went over my 5GB free quota for back up, so hey ho... I upgraded to the next size up.

Afterwards I had a hefty clear out of my photo album after copying everything over to my PC.

This hasn't effected the back up size. How odd I thought.

So i've got about 30 wallpapers left on the phone but it still shows as 3.6GB for the camera roll under the manage option.

This means that figure will always continue to rise under the "back up" option regardless of house keeping.

Are Apple shafting us or what?

Does Photostream counts towards this quota? It must do somehow.

Try going into iCloud backup settings on the device and delete the entire backup then start over. That fixed this issue for me.

That alone didn't fix it. What I had to do was unselect everything backed up, then delete back up, then set everything to ON again.

How strange.

It just takes some patience getting iCloud setup & working. While slightly better than mobile me, the cloud remains a bit of a mystery to Apple. Perhaps one day soon they'll hire experts to help them.
