iCloud ... is it worth it?

Install lion "again"? Did you uninstall it?
Either way, you dont need lion for iCloud services on your phone. Remember the whole "post pc era" schtick?
And is it worth it? Whatever could you mean? It's free as long as you have ios... So yes i think it's "worth" it much in the way that i think walking 10 feet to eat a free filet mignon is "worth" it.

There was a performance problem, especially with multitasking. Also my WIFI wasn't 100%. Snow leopard fixed it all.
Maybe if I install 8gb of Ram and try 10.7.2, my Lion experience might be better ( i only used up to 10.7.1 ).
If you read the forum iclouds has a lot of issues. Multiple contacts duplication and lack of ability to delete photos after they are transfered to iclouds. It also creates albums that cannot be deleted. I have shut off almost all the icloud features until the fix it.
But you do need lion to complete the migration from .mac/MobileMe to icloud. I'm still debating, I didn't see a compelling reason to upgrade to Lion from SL. This seems to force the issue.
I use iCloud to keep contacts and calendar info between my iPhone and iPad sync'd up easily. I have found nothing useful about iCloud syncing to my Mac because my Mac is a laptop that's rarely awake. So it can't stay in sync anyway.
Photostream is useless since you can't access it without syncing a Lion computer to it (I'd like to see it via just logging into icloud.com from any computer; that would be a useful feature).
Backing up to iCloud isn't compelling since I already have a home computer I backup to. And I like knowing where and when my backups are.

Why are so many people assuming worth = monetary value? I'm pretty sure the OP was asking if iCloud is worth the trouble of installing Lion.
Of course it's worth it. I can pretty much restore my iPhone(new or the one I already have) to the exact way I had it without the need to connect to iTunes. Best part is that your not forced to update when you restore via iCloud.

I paid for iTools, then Dot Mac, then MobileMe. iCloud looks less attractive to me, so I doubt I'll pay for extra storage space. The included 5 gig on the free level account is more than enough to sync my contacts, calendars and whatnot. My photo and music libraries constitute well over 500gig, so iCloud can't do anything for me on that front.
Technically its not FREE if you don't have Lion. You could use it on your phone but not with your Mac. But is it worth it? Honestly depends if you feel like you need/want it. I guess the fact that you could go to iCloud.com and use the resources from your device online at anytime makes it worth it.

It seems kind of useful thus far with the extra 20GB I'm allotted from being a former MobileMe sufferer, but those GBs go away at the end of next June.
With only 5GB, it sure doesn't seem like enough room to store much of anything besides some app data and maybe messages from a low-volume email account. And at this point, I can't see any reason to pay Apple a dime for extra space, not when I'm getting almost 10GB for free from Dropbox and 50GB free from Box.net.
You'd think Apple would smarten up and make some huge amount of space available for free (like 100GB or more; it's obvious 95% of the user base would never touch 1% of that) and then come up with some sort of extra service they could charge for and get some income.
