Hello:

I restored both my Mac and iPhone at the same time. Approving access via 'other device' is not possible. I know my security key, and I type that in instead after entering my Apple ID and password. It then sends a text message to a phone number - but the phone number is to a phone that I no longer have.

When I click "Can no longer access this device," I'm taken to the Apple Support forum with no clear instruction.

I've logged into My Apple ID, and my phone number (current) is correct.

How do I change the Keychain phone number to my correct and current number?

That's what I thought. That's why I didn't do it from the start. But no, after about twenty minutes, Apple was able to convince me resetting it wouldn't delete my passwords. It just resets all your access permissions and passwords so you can once again log in to keychain. Apple, apparently, cannot simply 'unlock' your keychain or reset their password. All they can do is bypasses.
