iCloud Keychain: updates not syncing

hi,

I've setup iCloud Keychain on my iPhone 6s with iOS 9.2.1 and my iPad Air 2 with iOS 9.3 pb 7. It seems to work and I've my passwords. But when I change a password on one device it doesn't seem to update on my second device. At least until 6 hours or so (both devices are in the same wifi). Can I somehow force a synchronization or figure out what's wrong here? Can I verify my two devices are correctly connected?
