iCloud Madness with iPhone 3g

Hi everyone.

I have a Problem.

I synced al my devices to iCloud
(iMac 10.7, MBA 10.7, iPad 1gen, iPhone 3g iOS4)

Since I put al my contacts to iCloud. All my contacts on the iPhone are gone

I know that iOS4 doesn't support iCloud so i wanted to sync the phone over the classic cable to the iMac where the contacts are still in place. But the iPhone doesn't retrieve the contacts. even though, I told iTunes to synch the contacts in the iTunes info panel .

What else can I do to have my date on the iPhone again?

I think you need iOS5 and therefore 3GS minimum to run iCloud.

I have a 3GS with iOS5 and had the same thing happen. People call me and all I see is their number. First time I've ever lost contact info since I had a cellphone. Learned that lesson the hard way, and disabled all iCloud functions.
