Hello,
I signed up for MobileMe for the contact syncing over a year ago. I started using the email so that I could access my personal mail at work. Unfortunately, my last two jobs, IE6/7 are the web browsers. Both of them choke on MobileMe. In fact all browsers will eventually choke on MobileMe. Try this, leave MobileMe.com logged in for a few hours, then try to write an email: you wont be able to fill out the To field from your address book, clicking on an email will cause the whole page to refresh, etc. It seems like the client loses connection to server, and has to reestablish the connection, which is often unsuccessful. Contrast this to GMail, which is rock solid, and 10x faster to do everything. GMail hardly uses any CPU, compared to MobileMe bogging down slower machines, and sending browsers into a tizzy. If iCloud is not on par with GMail, I will be switching back to GMail. But then again, I may be switching anyway, as iCloud is rumoured not to work with IE at all, so I wouldnt be able to access it at work. Kind of defaults the point of web mail (access anywhere), when you rule out the worlds most common (albeit *********) browser.
Can someone with icloud mail comment on the how solid and fast it is?
