Hi all - I switched over from gmail to iCloud (me.com) mail when iCloud was launched because I wanted to be able to sync between the contacts, mail, and calendar for my iPhone, iPad, and Macbook. Gmail was driving me crazy with not being able to delete messages when set up through Exchange and I was having a lot of issues with how my address book fields were syncing between google and my apple products. So far I am pleased with the calendar and address book functionality of iCloud but the mail service is awful. Push never works...I have tried everything and searching my mail is a pain as well...so I wanted to go back to gmail.

Well, iCloud mail forwarding doesn't seem to be working properly. I tried setting up some rules to get to forward and it's hit or miss....anyone else know what I can do? I'm amazed that Apple does such a great job with some products and just can't get e-mail right. :(

Just the same for me I'm afraid, iCloud is brilliant except for email, I can't trust it as my primary address, since I migrated over from MobileMe

So I have had to move all my email back to Gmail, not by forwarding them from iCloud ( as forwarding rarely works IMO) but by manually altering all my email addresses to all my contacts

I found this annoying but now it's done all is well and working as it should, I really wanted to be all Apple but I need a reliable email provider and iCloud at the moment is not that

Apple, MobileMe, was my goto email provider.

My private domain mail was hosted with bluehost, forwarded to MobileMe, and MobileMe was programmed to respond with my private custom email.

They took that ability away with the iCloud 'upgrade.

So now apple has pushed me full bore google apps account and gmail. Join the club.
