iCloud mail setting not applying to Mail.app?

I have a signature and mail rules setup on iCloud.com, why do they not apply to Mail.app when I set up my iCloud account? To me it should be a logical that they would pull down with the rest of my account.

I agree that would be a nice feature and makes sense, but they do not sync. You have to setup the rules in Mail app separately.

thats just ridiculous. I would expect those rules to be server side not client side. Having them client-side almost defeats the point of being able to make them on the website at all.
