Hey everyone,

So the update to iOS 9 broke a lot of software in my phone, so I did a full reset since the backup contained whatever bugs were introduced.

Now then, with iOS 8 and iOS 9, how exactly do I go about downloading my entire library. If I sync my songs using iTunes then turn on iCloud music, there is the option to Merge or Replace. If I Merge, then iCloud music doesn't sync my playlists like it should. If I Replace, all the music on my phone is removed and and I have to download the music again.

Downloading shouldn't be painful. We have 50 Mbps internet service. However, my iPhone 5 has endless errors when downloading the full library. Such as, I have a playlist named All Music that contains, well, all my music. If I make it available offline, it begins to download. However, doing this (with about 3500 songs) will essentially freeze the phone. I think the songs download, but it gets stuck processing and never finishes. If I slowly download the songs, say artist by artist, it will work, but this takes a lot of attention.

I remember iOS 7 or an early version of iOS 8 (cannot remember) would only queue about 100 songs at a time until it finished.

So what am I doing wrong? Shouldn't what I'm doing work?

on Mac switch to playlist view....multiple select what u want, right click and "Make available offline"

iOS, not OS X.

The problem occurs when I click "Make available offline" on my iPhone. I thought maybe it was just the iPhone 5 showing its age, but my new iPhone 6S is doing the same thing. It will start to download the songs, but after maybe 700 or so, it will hang.

At this point, I can no longer download any songs. Even if I cancel all the downloads and restart with just a few, it won't download.

The iPhone 6S may reveal the problem a bit better. Downloading isn't the issue. It hangs at processing.

I filed another bug report with Apple since this was never fixed.
