Hi all! When I add an mp3 to iTunes normally that mp3 would sync to iCloud Music library and will show on all my devices. For some reason it does not update my iPhone X. It will update all of my other devices EXCEPT my iPhone. To get it to sync I have to turn off iCloud Music library on my iPhone then turn it back to reload all of my music. The new song will show after that.

Has anyone else experienced this? Next step would be to wipe my phone and start fresh but I don’t want to do that if it’s not going to fix the issue. Plus I have an Apple Watch which means I would have to pair that again as well.

If anyone knows of a solution please let me know.

Thanks!
Patrick

What's the longest you've waited for the sync to occur?

Have you tried creating a "New Playlist" on the iPhone X to, perhaps, give the syncing a "kick"?

I've waited up to a day to see if the sync will work. I just tried your suggestion and added a blank playlist and it worked! Still doesn't fix the automatic syncing but it's better than reloading iCloud Music library.

Thank you!

I was hoping 11.4 beta 2 would have fixed this.. but still not syncing properly, without the playlist workaround.

I don't think you can permanently fix it, regardless of what you do..... Its not local... It's apple issue. They can try and fix it locally all they like, but its server end mostly...

Which is why signing out and back in sometimes fixes it..

If Apple "does fixes" it in later iOS, they'll break it again later on... its always happens... Noting ever just stays permanently fixed.

Plus, if its a beta, you may as well add that to the reason list as well as possible causes.

Recent sync issues can be ‘forced’ by creating a playlist with a single track in. To force ‘sync’, rename the playlist then rename it back (ie edit, iadd a space to the end, done. The edit, remove the space and done.). I’ve found this forces a sync, including any recently added tracks, updated album art etc.

Something seems to be screwy with iCloud Music Library sync between devices since 11.2 or so. Hoping it will be fixed soon.

I don't think that's an issue... by renaming tracks, but it would help

You don't need to create a new play list,, just rename a song already there to 'force' a re-sync
