iCloud no longer automatically backing up

I'm on UVerse (have been for over a year) and as of a little over two weeks ago, my 6+ stopped doing automatic backups overnight. On top of that, I can't manually force it to do an iCloud backup anymore either. It just stops at some point in the middle without any sort of error message. The only backup that I'm able to do right now is to iTunes on my MacBook. Are there any fixes for this short of backing up to the laptop, blowing away the entire phone and restoring?

Edit: Not currently encrypting my backups; that shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, my last backup was only 2.3GB and I have over 16GB free.
