Photos on Macbook is only downloading 1,500~ of 10,000 photos. It's been at that number for a couple of days. Is there any way to force it to download/sync?

iCloud not downloading all photos

Surely it can't be just us!
"Downloading 16,701 items" since last week. Out of about 44,000.
Off to search out a solution, will post here if found.

In the past 36 hours, about 4,000 more photos have downloaded. So it was either iCloud busy, my provider throttling, or it just takes a long time?
