My iPad2 has 932MB. When the backup is started it returns the message - not enough storage available and shows the backup as incomplete? iCloud says there is 4GB remaining of the 5GB.

Have others had this problem and how does one get around it without buying more?

Under Settings> iCloud> Storage and Backup> Manage Storage

What does it say your next back-up size will be?

Your current size may be 932mb, but your next backup size may have increased and now its over the limit (I'm guessing). People forget that iCloud backs up everything, including Camera Roll and its videos. Have you recorded any videos lately?

Excellent.

Next back up is listed as 9.6GB which explains it.

I have a number of aviation apps with large data bases. These can be turned off and I will try again.

No video on the iPad.

I'm glad you were able to find the source of the problem. What a diference of 932mb to 9.6GB

Same error, but only trying to back up 20MB

Same error, but only trying to back up 20MB. My iCloud backup is empty, the full 5.0GB available.
When I try to back up only my bookmarks (20MB) I get that error about not enough space available.
