Hi! I use the Photo Library Beta on my iphone 6 and iPad mini 2. When I Switched it on on my iPad, it had no photos stored on it. On my iPad I switched on, that it optimizes Photos, while it has to keep the Originals on my iphone. Now Photos take up 8GB of Storage (and won't free them when I need Space) on my iPad and I'm wondering how to delete photos from my device, but not from the iCloud library, like I used to Do it with iTunes Match.
I hope you can help me!

I've noticed this too... my iPad Mini 2 (32GB) is nearly filled to the brim with pictures and videos now. No way to purge it without turning off iCloud Photo Library it seems.. I have it set to optimize pictures and video.

In my experience, the "Optimise Storage" setting works, but it takes a couple of hours/a day for the "cleanup" of large photos to begin. How long has it been since you've turned it on?
