I cannot find the answers to these questions. Please help.

I bought 1TB of storage. I have no interest in using my Mac with iCloud. I travel a lot and mainly use my phone and iPad.

I have thousands of photos and hundreds of short videos. It would be nice to have them accessible between the iPhone and ipad while conserving space, as its advertised.

How do I recover an original quality photo or video once it has been optimized?

How can you share/text/email an original quality once it has been optimized?

I have a couple dozen albums to organize my photos/videos on my device. Will iCloud preserve these albums?

Thank you

1. You simply open the photo or video on your iPhone/iPad and if it's optimized, it will begin downloading the original version so you can view it in full detail.

2. Either by entering icloud.com or by doing #1 above and you'll have the original to freely share. You can also create shared photo streams or shared albums with other iOS users.

3. Yes, they should be preserved, although I'm not 100% sure since I'm not a heavy album-user.

Thank you for the response, one more question..

What happens with video in regards to optimized playback? Do you just get a thumbnail until it downloads the original, or do you have a low-res video you can still view with the option of downloading the original?

It downloads the original when clicking on the thumbnail so you never view it as low-res - at least I've never had to do that.
