Is there a proper sequence to setting up iCloud Photo Library on my Mac, iPhone and iPad? That is, do I start with the Mac by enabling the photo library in Photos and then once the photos are uploaded in the iCloud, go to the other devices and enable the photo library. Is there any other info that can make the transition easiy?

Thanks,

Apple does not recommend a method. Personally, if I was just getting started with iCloud Photo Library, I would turn it on on one device at a time, allowing each device to finish uploading/updating before turning on the other device.

That said, in practice you will probably find that each device tries to upload its full library before iCloud identifies and reconciles duplicates, unfortunately.

Thanks. I did that but now I noticed that there is proper sync between iCloud and iPhone but the Photos app on my Mac has decided to upload everything again. I have no reason why? Also, it is not sync'n at all with my iPhone or iCloud.

I am thinking of disabling IPL on my Mac, removing all my photos from Photo app and then enabling IPL again. Hoping that it will download the entire library from iCloud and not erase everything. I have downloaded and kept originals on my iPhone for safety ( I think/hope ).

Any suggestions?
