iCloud Photo Library upload time.... (and more problem)

Anyone have major difficulties with iCloud photo library? Been trying to upload 22,000 photos to the cloud, but upload constantly stops midway, then restarts, the stops midway.

What's worse, the upload number all of sudden fluctuates up and down.

(and not down constantly like normal. For example, started out at 22,000 photos, and goes down as upload progresses. Then upload stops all of sudden for 10 minutes to 1 hour, then when it starts, all of sudden it says it's uploading 25,000 photos)

Is there also way to completely "RESET" iCloud photo library, basically starting from blank? All the photos are stored on my desktop for now and on external hard drive for quick and easy access)
 
There are a bunch of bugs it seems with iCloud photo library. My total amount on my desktop doesn't match the total amount on my phone. My phone also claims to have "1 video to download" but won't download it despite being on wifi and plugged in. Not sure whats going on, though it appears photo library is quite buggy.

I thought this public beta was going to ELIMINATE this type of bugs, knowing that mass consumers could find the bug right away and Apple would patch it up before the final mass release.

Has the number of upload been fluctuating for you as well? Mine went from 22,000 to 23,000 and now all of sudden, 25,000.
 
Been having many problems as well. It's uploading very slow (12hours for only 3k pics) and still not done.
Also when I check on my iPhone, the photos are not in the right albums, it's a mess. Anyone know if this will resolve once the upload is done?
 
Mine finally finished. Everything looks synced, however my computer still shows 1 more photo then my phone. Not sure how to fix that.

op same problem you have with a library a bit larger. Almost 2 days and still uploading so I gave up shut iCloud Photo Library off across all me devices and just use photo stream, simple and easy
 
I could go back to Photostream but it then defeats the purpose of upgrading to 200 GB storage.

So is the best option is to wait and hope for the best?

Is there also a "Reset" option where the entire iCloud Photo Library is erased including the one with 30 day photo deletion. (All photos are also stored on my external drive) or do I have to call Apple for iCloud Photo Library Reset?

If you log onto iCloud.com and go into Photos, it will show you how many photos you have uploaded. I have 2,000 photos out of 8,000 uploaded since release a few days ago. That's slow, but not so much "hoping for the best" as having patience and knowing it'll be worthwhile in the end.

What about a reset? Do I contact apple support reset the library in the cloud?
 
Well problem went from bad to WORSE, now the photos app on iCloud Website won't load at all. IT CRASHES.......


Should I now call Apple support and ask what the heck is going on?

Sounds like your computer rather than the iCloud website. Try accessing it from a different computer.
 
Okay site works now.

But when I went to look at Photos, to my horror, iCloud Photos are unchecked.

This is getting absolutely nowhere now.

Is there a way to literally reset the photo library in the cloud and try to see if adding the photos little by little helps? This is getting absolutely ridiculous on Apple's part.

I simply now want to reset the iCloud Photo Library and restart from scratch.

(All photos by the way are stored in the external drive also in addition to my internal hard drive)
 
My photo collection on Aperture was around 54k photos and showing as 76k in the cloud(!). I have noticed my ISP is throttling the upload during peak times, this is possibly why people are noticing a slow down, or even stop.

I have to say, it has been a heart stopping process. My library completely disappeared from Aperture after I started the upload, fortunately I was able to retrieve it again, but nontheless this has felt like a very flawed process.
 
I set up my Photos OS X on MBPr with albums and folders, where I put 6 landscaping albums into a Folder I created as they are titled by year and didn't want to get confused over other year titled photos/albums. However, the new Landscaping Folder shows in iCloud Photos, but the Albums I put in the Folder on the MBP Photo App are not there and still show as separate Albums in iCloud. The Folder is empty.

I have less that 500 photos, so wouldn't think it would take long to do that. Rest of photos quickly uploaded.
 
Okay, this might be repost from other thread but since I'm the OP here, it might be safe to post it here as well.

Okay guys, here's the thing:

iCloud has limit of 10,000 photo upload request per hour. Any more could crash your iCloud account and potentially could corrupt your whole iCloud Photo Library.

Essentially, this is what had happened to me. I attempted to upload 20,000 photos in one try, which had completely destroyed my photo library and the stability of my account. It's been day three since contacting Apple Support and they are still on the case. (Hell, my case is officially classified as critical and iApp and iCloud engineers have been dispatched to solve the case as this may be unknown bug in iCloud) my account is also in Troubleshooting mode, meaning they have full access to my account, minus the Apple Pay details (which is locally stored on my device), with my full permission to fix the issue.

So, my suggestion to everyone, if you are considering uploading more than 10,000 photos to iCloud, STOP!!!!!!!! Do not do it. If you have more than 10,000 photos in the library, save the photos in external drive, create a NEW Photo Library in photos application and import little at the time while iCloud Photo Library is turned on.

If you already attempted to upload more than 10,000 photos, and are stuck, well, your account is FUBAR, and only option IS to CALL Apple support for help.

How about using the "Pause for one day" button for an hour or so? I assume this would get around the limit?

My concern with using the Photo Library is upload speeds. I have Time Warner with 22mb/sec down and 2.5mb/sec up. I've been uploading 12000 photos for about a week now and have managed to get about 8000 uploaded. However, I notice in Activity Manager under the Network tab, that during the uploads it seems to peek at 350kb/sec and never any better. Not sure if Time Warner is throttling or it is iCloud or what. During these uploads, my Internet is virtually unusable and so is my TV if I happen to be watching Netflix or anything that is streaming.

So I'm pondering if I go on vacation and take a few hundred pics during the day and then happen to sit down in a coffee shop and turn on the wifi to surf the Net, is my phone going to become unusable because the upload procedure is totally dominating it? I could turn off wifi and use cellular, but then that will be gobbling my cellular data.

See any solution to this dilemma?

I've just noticed "1 video to upload / download". Apple needs to fix this ASAP :(
