I use iCloud Photo Library and have a 200GB iCloud storage plan of which I've used about 60GB so I still have about 140GB of free. Usually when I take pictures on my iPhone they later show up on my Mac and iPad. Or if I save a picture on my iPad it shows up on my Mac or iPhone.

I had some pictures stored on a micro SD card and I recently added these to my photo library on my Mac. The pictures show up on my Mac but I can't see them on my iPhone or iPad. They are stored locally on my Mac.

It's been about a week since I added the picture so I would have thought that they would have synced by now. Note sure what is happening?

  1. Are you using the macOS Sierra beta?
  2. Are the images imported on your Mac showing in the All Photos folder, along with the rest of your photos too?
  3. Are the images imported on your Mac showing on iCloud.com?

I have exactly this problem.
Running iOS 10 GM on iPhone and iPad, and Sierra.
Photos added to iPhone or iPad show on iPhone, iPad and iCloud.com and the Mac.
Photos added to Photos on the Mac don't show up anywhere.
Photos on the Mac is constantly updating, uploading or downloading. When it finished uploading, it starts downloading, then updating then uploading again and I have 30,000 images. It's been doing this for weeks.
For me, iCloud Photo library and Photos on the Mac is completely broken but perfect everywhere else.
I even did a complete OS reinstall to no avail.
I would even start again from scratch if i didn't have to wait 30 days to completely clear the library out.
