So my phone recently suffered a pretty huge crack and I'm considering moving my photos from my iPhone to iCloud. It would free up a bit of space on my phone but I know very little about iCloud. When I get a new iPhone can I take those photos I have stored and move them to the new phone? I'm assuming I would be able to. Does anyone have any positives or negatives re: iCloud Photos? Thanks for the help!

You will need to make sure your iCloud storage plan is large enough to accommodate full size versions of your Photos Library.

When you turn on iCloud Photos I think it will warn you if you don't have enough iCloud storage and enable you to buy more.

Make sure the photos on current cracked phone have finished uploading to iCloud before dumping it. Can take a while.
