Hi there,

this might be a dumb question but I‘m a newbie as far as iOS is concerned (had Macs for many years though) so I would appreciate any help here.

I have quite a „big“ photos library on my MacBook Pro and all of these pictures are within the photos app there. So far I didn‘t have to use iCloud at all because I didn‘t have an iPhone or an iPad (always had Android smartphones).

Recently I bought a new 11 inch iPad Pro and transferred all my pictures from my smartphone over to the iPad with an app and wifi sync. So now I have around 5000 pictures on my Mac in the photo library and roughly 3000 on my iPad. So far so good.

I enabled iCloud with the same Apple ID on both my Mac and my iPad and began uploading all the pictures to the iCloud. On my Mac I can use Safari to go to the iCloud website, log in with my Apple ID and I can see all of the pictures there (combined from both devices) but I cannot see them in the library of my Mac without using the a web browser. I guess it should be like this, right?

On my iPad, however, I cannot use Safari in order to log in to the iCloud and the pictures from my Mac are also not in the iOS photos app. So how can I have convenient access to my Mac‘s pictures on my iPad? Is there a way to do it?

Thanks for any help or advice and greetings from Germany :)

I would turn on iCloud Photos on your Mac and see if it will consolidate with what is already there from your iPad.
