I have a huge sized Photo library in the iCloud and I just reinstalled my devices with the latest RC of the new OS. However, my iPad mini 6th gen is only 64GB and after syncing with iCloud, it immediately got full. Photo sync mode is set to optimized to not keep the originals on the device itself. However, now nothing works anymore and is stuck, it syncs up to 45GB and the device is full (around 18gb by OS).
Interestingly, the iPhone only has 14GB usage of Photos on iOS18.
Looks like the only solution is to completely disable photos now…
