iCloud photos

Ok so I just decided to use iCloud. Took me a while to figure out how to get the contacts up there. Now I'm wondering how photos work. I have logged in on my iMac and see the main window but I don't see any icons for photos. Does anyone know how to upload photos and where in iCloud do I see them?

You have to turn on "PhotoStream" on all of your device which will sync your last 1000 pics automatically.

If you want also you can send photos to photo stream when on your mac if you want to show friends etc via your iPhone/iPad/iPod.
