So today I received an email from Apple to kindly let me know that the price of my 2TB iCloud+ subscription has increased from £6.99 to £8.99 per month.
Inflation in the UK has been at around 10% for the last few months, but Apple thinks it is fair to hike its prices up by more than 25%.
Well done Timothy 😡

Does seem a little extreme, could see £7.99 to better align with USD prices. It's either political or it's writing on the wall for US folks as well. For me, as much as I dislike Google, their cloud storage has been a better experience since I'm always questioning if iCloud actually sync'd on my Mac and other devices when I add something new. The rest of iCloud+ "features" are either buggy (e.g. private relay) or provide a false sense of security which I could get from a VPN or adblocker.

Came here to moan about the same thing, so did other people get an email? I received nothing, just by chance I read it in the news last night then checked to see my subscription had risen from £6.99 to £8.99, I got no email to inform me at all, I’ve searched through & nothing, the fact I had to find out by chance combined with the huge price increase that really pisses me off, like is that even legal in the UK? I know it’s not a huge amount of money but the principal is so greedy & feels like we’re again being treated like a bunch of chumps that will pay anything cos it’s Apple. I’m already look into into how to reduce my iCloud, simple enough as only using 350gb of 2tb.

Yes I did get an email.
The price increase is huge when looked at it in terms of percentage (>25%)

That's another stupid part for it. There shouldn't be zero choices between 200 and 2048

Same, I am only just over 200GB but with all the family using it I doubt we can save enough for long.
I hear you but we have an Amazon account & they have unlimited full resolution photo storage, so we share that, for many years I used my Mac to sync pics with my iPhone that has a backup , so am going back to that & the iPhones & iPads will get sync from the Mac as well as the ability to use Amazon Photo were another copy is.
Trouble is turning off iCloud, I've made my Mac photo's library the main system library & switch on download full resolution pics but switching it off warns me 53 low resolution photo's will be removed from my Mac & full resolution will remain in iCloud. Typical not making it easy to switch stuff off.

Currency exchange rates are more important than UK inflation for Apple to set their prices.
