Has anyone noticed that having iCloud private relay on significantly slows website loading times?

Is it’s intended to act like a vpn? Sometimes websites won’t load at all unless I refresh them multiple times

It‘s relying on 2 endpoints communicating with each other, it‘s bound to have latency. We‘re also in the early beta days, chances are Apple does not put that much $$$ behind the Relay service until 15.0 hits stable.

For me it’s inconsistent, sometimes I almost don’t see the difference on the speed, and there are times where it takes several seconds to load. The feature itself seems to be a little bit instable at the moment, but Apple will surely correct that.

On beta 1 I was having major issues with Private Relay - minutes+ waiting for not just websites but any inbound or outbound connection to work properly.

Since Beta 2 on all my devices, I've experienced some slowdowns but nothing more than a handful of seconds (maybe 20s max)
