iCloud problems. Flashback to iOS 8.0

iCloud isn't backing up and I can't delete previous backups. Flashback to iOS 8 release. Anyone else having this problem? Running iOS 9.0.2 on iPhone 6.

I've backed up successfully once...iCloud has never been very reliable for me.

It was awful when iOS 8 first came out and then was back to normal after a few updates. Hoping 9.1 can fix it.

Also, with iOS 8.4.1 airdrop finally worked for me (between mac and iPhone) but now it's not working. Mac is on El cap.
