Has anyone had trouble with restore from iCloud backup? My phone is mostly restored properly, but Health is missing the last few weeks of workouts, and my Messages only restored messages up to June of 2019. All messages since are gone. I tried turning off Messages in my “sync to iCloud” settings, and it warned me that messages are still downloading, but it has been 24 hours, and Messages on my old phone only has 72Mb of data, so it shouldn’t take that long to download.

I like the convenience of restoring from iCloud backup, but I think next time I’ll go back to using my computer. It seems more reliable.

I’m setting up my phone as new as well. Kind of a pain, but it is a good opportunity to clean things up and remove a bunch of apps I don’t use any more.

I just checked Apple support site - looks like a lot of iCloud issues - just an FYI before you make any efforts that might just get fixed shortly / waiting for apple to get things fixed?

When you refer to iCloud backup, do you mean the actual backup of the phone or just message and health data on iCloud. If it is the later, it may be that the missing health and message data have not been synchronized to the cloud yet. I encountered this issue a few month ago. When I reset the phone, I missed about a week worth of health data.

If you have a Mac, you can manually force the message to sync with iCloud. I usually force sync the message on my Mac before resetting the phone and I have never had message missing. But I don't know how to do that manually on iPhone and I don't know a way to do this for health data.
