iCloud Status still "waiting"???

I signed up for Apple Music (using the library off my wife's iMac because that one was much smaller than on my iMac). And aside from the metadata being changed everything seems working well (can see all the music and play lists on both iMacs and the one iPhone that I set up for Apple music so far).

Anyway, when I go to My Music and I have set up a column in the Songs listing to show "iCloud Status" I still have quite a few songs that say "Waiting".

Any ideas of how to get them moving? I have tried closing and restarting iTunes, have tried "updating the Library" and have tried restarting the iMac itself.

In my experience they seem to be songs that are not eligible/available for Apple Music. Shouldn't matter if I bought them, right????

All the ones I still have showing up as "Waiting" are ones that play on an iOS device, but not on my iMac.

If you did the iCloud Music Library from iOS before turning it on from iTunes on a Mac. The "waiting" or dotted cloud icon in iTunes means you have to upload it from the Mac. Simply just right click and select "add to iCloud Music Library" this of course is assuming you have the files on your Mac. Songs don't get uploaded from iOS, only matched and unmatched shows up as grey from other devices other than the one used when first turning on iCloud Music Library until the song files themselves have been uploaded from a Mac in iTunes.

"*When you choose Merge, songs on your device that are in the Apple Music catalog become instantly available to access on your other devices. On iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, songs that we can’t match are shown on your other devices. But you won’t be able to play them on your other devices until you upload them from your Mac or PC with iTunes."

The songs that I have "waiting" status on do not have an option to "add to library" Some of them are in my "Matched" smart playlist! If you matched them, why are they waiting and I can't play them on my devices?

I'm done. I went back to turning off iML.

No. I originally turned on iCloud music library from iTunes on the iMac and then took off all the songs on my IPhone 6 BEFORE I turned it on there so that I would not get the merging questions. But the iMac (and a second IMac that did not have any music in the iTunes library are both still showing waiting for a large number of tracks.

Update. Original iMac iTunes - after several times turning off and on iCloud Music Library - now shows no songs as "waiting". HOORAY!!!
However, on a second iMac - which has no actual music files - I set up a second iTunes Library with Apple Music and signing into the iCloud Music Library (both iMacs/iTunes use same Apple ID), that is still showing "waiting" for around 100 out of 22,000 songs. And I have tried turning on and off iCloud Music Library several times. I have also tried signing out of and back into my iTunes account.

And before anyone asks, the songs that are still showing as "waiting" on the second iMac do show and play perfectly on my iPhone 6.

The songs I have showing as "waiting" we're added from Apple music on my phone. There are no files to upload. I'm assuming I can just delete them, and then re-add them to my library.

If you "merge" from iPhone or just iOS in general, anything that it doesn't find matches for requires the song/file to be uploaded from a Mac in iTunes. Because iOS doesn't upload things, it only matches. So if you do not have those files somewhere available so you can upload then yes you can probably just go ahead and remove them from the list. (But be careful removing things from one device in IML will remove it from all that are using IML.)
