I'm guessing they have to assume at any time every user could change to the max, and they have enough room for everyone to have 2TB now, but not more.

With 4K video, 2 TB is no longer huge.

Apple should minimally offer 4 TB $19.99/month storage tier. If you ask me, it's about time Apple double the storage across all tiers (free = 10 GB, $0.99 = 100 GB, $2.99 = 400 GB, $9.99 = 2 TB), but since no one is doing that, I would prefer prefer pay-as-you-go pricing at $4.99/month for each 1 TB.

It is urgent that Apple offer more space than 2TB, at the moment you could have up to 4TB but only with a USA iTunes account with Apple One.
It is not easy to transfer all information from other country iTunes account to a USA account.

Also some days ago Google One offer more than 2TB but I no longer see that option because I was thinking in canceling my icloud account and move everything to Google.

I am also thinking on other options like Amazon or Cloudflare to move everything because my 2.2TB space is full now.

The problem is, only with iCloud Photo Library you can update photos completely in the background. With Google One, you need to run and leave Google Photos running periodically to upload all your photos and videos.

Apple should absolutely offer higher storage without requiring you to purchase Apple One. Just offer automatic billing based on total storage space used.

And if Apple insist on pushing Apple One, offer new Apple One iCloud tier that replaces Apple Music with iCloud, and offer it internationally:
  • $14.99/month
  • 2 TB iCloud
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple TV+
