As (probably) with everyone else my iCloud Storage is slowly getting eaten up! I started at the base free 5 GB and have increased to what I have now which is the 200 GB option. Now, I only have 30 GB of that free so am considering increasing the to the maximum 2 TB. I'm just interested to see what others have and how they manage their own storage?

I am at the 50GB level and that fits my current needs. I don't take a lot of photos, although I do use iCloud for some storage.

If you are using iCloud in the same kind of manner as Dropbox, you will constantly run into problems at the lower levels.

If you take a lot of photos and needs to back up several devices, that space gets taken up quickly as well.

I sync to my computer regularly, backup to two external hard drives and use Time Machine weekly. I see no reason to pay Apple for more iCloud space but I can understand why others do.

200GB shared with the family, currently 30GB free. Device backups probably take the biggest chunk.

It's super easy to upgrade iCloud storage so I'll wait until my devices complain that there's not enough space in iCloud before switching to higher tiers. No need to give Apple free money until then.

Good point. I still have 30GB free so as you say, no need to give Apple more money yet.

It's truly a subjective thing IMO what one needs and feels comfortable paying for etc. I just upgraded to 2TB with family sharing storage so that my wife and son can have additional space.

I pay for Dropbox as well and also have 1TB of OneDrive storage as well.

There's no one solution fits all when it comes to storage and workflows. Some may have larger device storage capacity, some may do local external storage options, local network storage, or alternative cloud storage etc. etc. All depends on what works for each of us.
