I just received an email from Apple stating that my iCloud storage has been extended until Sep. 30, 2013. This is being done for all MobileMe users as a thank you for using MobileMe. Not a bad little perk...I've been using an Apple email address since 2001 so getting a little something back is a nice thing.

Here is the message I received:

Dear XXXXXXX,

When you moved your MobileMe account to iCloud, we provided you with a complimentary storage upgrade beyond the standard 5GB that comes with an iCloud account to help you with the transition. Originally, this storage upgrade was set to expire on September 30, 2012.

As a thank you to our former MobileMe members, we will continue to provide you with this complimentary storage upgrade at no charge, for an additional year, until September 30, 2013. No action is required on your part. For complete details, please read this article.

Thank you again for using iCloud,

iCloud Team

I didn't get the e-mail. However, my iCloud settings changed today from 9/30/2050 to

9/20/2013

So we get an extra year from the glitch. Your e-mail shows great PR from Apple's point of view. I am sure I will get the same email.

Got an email about this tonight too!!!
I didn’t know what to do with all my stored information after September 30th as I was abroad but this was a welcomed surprise :)

I got the same message. But 2 weeks before I get the:

"Your iCloud storage will be reduced to 5 GB on 30/09/2012" email!! so i freak a little as I have way more than 5GB of emails.

So  gets a giggle out of seeing everyone flap and panic for a couple of weeks before saying, 'you can have another year of extended storage'

Why doesn't  just keep it extending ongoing? I get gmail for free so WTF not?

c'mon . pretty please :D
