My trial period for ICloud + runs out on 2/14. It’s currently giving me 400GB. 200GB that I subscribe to plus another 200GB for the trial period.
My current iCloud storage is at over 205GB in size, what happens after my trial period ends to the 5GB overage for what I currently subscribe to ?
My intention is to subscribe to the standard 2TB plan but would I need to do this before or after 2/14 or before my next 200GB billing period ? Thanks.

According to Apple, everything basically pauses.

That was taken direct from their iCloud support article.

I personally wouldn't risk losing anything unless you can afford to lose anything. I actually had data loss on iCloud a couple years ago that Apple did a deep dive into and couldn't explain. It wouldn't have been related to exceeding the data allotment, or shouldn't have. I've never come close that I know of.
