iCloud - Threaded messaging?

I assumed that iCloud mail would have threaded messaging. Since Apple Mail, iOS (iPhone, iPad, etc) all have threaded messaging. From what I see iCloud mail doesn't have threaded messaging?

That is a serious deal breaker for a person like me trying to switch from gmail to iCloud mail. I've had threaded messaging for 4 years on gmail?

Am I missing a setting?

I guess I don't understand why apple would release icloud mail without a feature that iOS and apple mail both have when they are designed to work together?

I assumed the online emails would 'thread' too. Guess not. That's a mistake by Apple, imo.

I completely decided not to use iCloud because of this. iCloud email doesn't measure up with gmail. It doesn't even measure up with apple mail and it looks almost identical to apple mail.

I agree this needs to be fixed. I think the issue is that GMail was built to thread email (why iCloud wasn't is beyond me) but for apps on the Mac/iPad/iPhone the threading is done locally. In iCloud there is no local component.

Well I'm glad it's not just me, there seems to be very little discussion of this on the net. I noticed the day it was launched in disbelief, basically iCloud is just the old me.com mail, which everyone has always hated!

I'm a little bothered by this as well. I so want to be 100% Apple but they don't make it that easy (when other products are superior).

So, I'm balancing the fact that Apple's email is inferior (slow, fewer features) with the fact that Gmail has different issues (invades privacy).

I don't really care to use Mail on my Mac as I'd prefer to just log on to a web interface as I've been doing now for years with Gmail. I see no reason to have my email stored locally on a computer as it was back in the old days. It's not stored on my iPhone (except for 25 or 50 recent messages) so I don't see any need to have it stored on my computer (if I'm ever away from an internet connection for my computer, I'm likely on my iPhone anyway).

Please Apple, add some features to your iCloud email interface!!!

I'm bothered by this too. It'd be much easier for me to switch from Gmail if this important feature weren't missing.

I often have threads of emails with 5 to 20+ replies; I can't imagine what a mess it'd be without threading.

I hope Apple fixes this by the time Mountain Lion is out.

It's ridiculous that the web version of iCloud mail doesn't have threading. This should be Apple's first priority before adding other new features. Come on, Apple, I want to switch over 100% to you on mail, but you're not letting me!

There's an update for iCloud.com that's forthcoming, hopefully we'll see threaded email then.

El Capitan is out... web mail broken still.
At first you just hate gmail, and you make big efforts to switch. You switch to icloud and realize... you still hate gmail, but you begin to appreciate features that were so natural and obvious in gmail, you never even noticed them - which for some obscure reason, apple didn't feel worth implementing.
