I'm trying to move iCloud email to Gmail to free up 2 gigs of iCloud storage.

I tried the following:

1. I drag and drop in Mail.app it seemed to be copying but right at the end gave me an error and nothing copied.

2. I tried to enter iCloud email as a normal imap in mail.app so i can back it up using the GoogleEmailUploader tool. Mail.app doesn't really like that and keeps setting it up as iCloud.

3. Exporting the mail box and adding it to the GoogleEmailUploader-1.2 for upload. GoogleEmailUploader-1.2 see's the inbox as 0.

---

Sorta at a loss here. Anyone have any experience of suggestions on this?

Appreciate it!

How are you do this - via mac mail or via iOS?

Mac with all the emails completely downloaded in the Mail.app

I have done this before (for outlook.com not gmail) and it worked fine. I only had 500mb of emails and could not do a one-time copy. Instead I did 10 at a time which worked.

Try using Thunderbird instead of Mail. It has no problems copying large numbers of mails between servers in one go.

Sounds like a plan. Also FYI just so everyone knows that GoogleEmailUploader-1.2 is only for Google Apps business accounts, not regular gmail. So total fail hehe.
