Two days ago I purchased 200gb of iCloud so I can free up my phone. And I have started to sync the Photos to the cloud. For I don’t know what reason the phone uploads so slow, even when plugged in to power. In 2 days it managed to upload only 38Gb. With my internet connection this should take just a few hours.
Do you guys have any tips and tricks on how to speed this up?
I have tried until now to force restart the phone, restart the router, all the time making sure that the sync is not paused. I feel like i’m back in the late 90’s with dial up connection.
And for some reason, in the photos app is not telling me that is synced anymore but is restoring from iCloud. I really don’t understand what is it restoring since I just purchased this 2 days ago

The first backup takes forever. Subsequent ones are pretty quick because they’re incremental.
If you’ve got a Mac, its always way way faster to back up to the Mac.
I don’t use iCloud backup anymore.
I only use a 64GB iPhone (3/4 full) and it’s first iCloud backup took 7 hours!

That would not be an option for me. Could I do this with a windows pc? But now stopping and deleting the back up would leave me uncertain of what iCloud would restore to my phone since there is nothing certain of what is backed up and what is not. And I think I need to finish this back up, hopefully before August….

Yes you can back up iPhone to a Windows PC using the free iTunes program. See link below for details.

An iCloud iPhone backup is all or nothing. It will be perfect or nothing. It’s not possible to use a backup that got corrupted or terminated early.

So the slow upload is not the fault of slow upload speed by ISP but slow download speed on Apple side [upload]?

So Google is the better option for download and upload?
