I noticed what looks like a bug on my iPhone and iPad, both on the public beta. I haven't seen it discussed anywhere so thought I'd post here.

What's happening is if I go to settings, iCloud, manage storage, backups, tap my iPhone, and look at what's going to be in the next backup, there's something quite odd.

It seems to be wanting to back up every bit of data in every app, to the point that my next backup is going to be 20GB larger (over 100GB larger on my iPad, which has more YouTube videos downloaded).

To be clear, it's wanting to back up things like the videos I've got saved offline in the YouTube app, or things I've saved offline in Google Drive, which is definitely not normal.

Anyone else seeing this?

I have just checked, and my iPhone seems to be also wanting to bump-up its next backup by 6GB (from the current 4GB), so something strange is going on. 🖐️

Wow! Thanks for this. Mine was the same. Backups for every app - one drive, dropbox, Forza everything. I've turned off most of them.

PS how do you see the next backup screen?

Phew, glad to hear it's not just me. If you go to Settings > Tap your name > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Tap the device you're currently using - that's where it will calculate the next backup size and show you what each app is using.

Mine only shows this. It seems my back up has been turned off! How do I turn it back on please?

What a numpty I really am!

I got I loud backup and phone backup mixed up.

I backup my calendar, mail, notes, reminders, whatsapp etc to iCloud. But backup my phone to my Mac as don't have enough icloud storage.
