So I suspect my setup is not unique and I would be interested to see how / what other people have done.

My iTunes/app store email address is from before the @me / @icloud time, actually a @doctors.org.uk account and has been used to make all purchases etc for movies, music and apps.

I then got an @me.com account which I use for a lot of my email, then I of course got the @icloud.com account when the name changed, but obviously still have both email addresses.

Now with iCloud I was hoping to obtain some sort of unity but that only seems possible if I use my @doctors.org.uk account and not the @iCloud.com account, which seems sort of odd.

What have other people done, and please do not put endless replies of I don't use iCloud because its rubbish.

Thanks.

You cannot merge accounts, you need to choose one or the other (or create a new one).

I understand that, and that is not my query.

I am sure many people now have multiple email accounts with apple, and I wanted to know how other people had resolved this ridiculous problem!

I'm in the same boat as you with all my iTunes/App Store purchases tied to one account and iCloud tied to another account and there really is no good solution. I just configure iTunes and App Store on all devices with one account the iCloud on all devices with the other and everything works fine.

At one time Apple mentioned they were "working on" a way to merge accounts, but I never heard another word about it.

I also have this arrangement, but unlike many I am not looking for a solution as I set it up this way on purpose. I have an Apple ID for the iTunes store, and a separate one for iCloud. Not all of my devices need/have access to both apps and personal data.

A.

That seems to be the way I am going as well, but it just strikes me as such an inelegant method.

Oh well

Thanks for the replies.

My point is there is no way to resolve this problem. I'm not disagreeing that its ridiculous, but apple is not providing any way to fix this.
