So the iCloud Drive function on Windows 10 has been improved. The offline support is great. Now it seems like iCloud Photos is broken on Windows 10 since Photos seem to be problematic.
Each Time I add Photos to be downloaded it adds to the download queue.
The download queue remains perpetually stuck.
There used to be a database that could be cleared to make the download reset. I really do not want to download all 38,000 pictures. 1500 or so would be fine. When configuring iCloud for Windows you are offered the opportunity to download photos to your Windows Machine. The download cannot be cancelled.Steps:-Install iCloud for Windows-In iCloud Settings Configure iCloud Photos to Download your iCloud Photos.-Right click on the iCloud icon in the system tray and select "Download Photos". Select 2019 or another timeframe from the dialog that opens.-Repeat the step above.-Sign out and Sign back in again.-Uninstall reinstall iCloud for Windows.Observed Behavior-Each download accrues additional files in the Queue to be downloaded. For example the first download in 15,000 files and the second accrues to 30,000 files.-The dialog states downloading 30,000 photos and remains stuck there.-The download is very slow and there is sometime no appearance that any photos are being downloaded at all.Expected Behavior-A User should be able to cancel a download from iCloud Photos in the Windows Sync Client.-A User should see the Photos being downloaded rather than the dialog being stuck at downloading 30,000 photos.-The download Queue/Job should clear when the program is Signed Out and Signed back in again or uninstalled and reinstalled.
