icons change??

Hi

Can anyone help me in changing my icons

I dont know how to change the trash can and finder icons on the dock

They are in /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app (right/ctrl-click to Show Package contents then navigate further) Contents/Resources/ in there you'll find finder.png and trashempty.png/trashfull.png.

Replace those files with appropriate png files of the same size (it might be a good idea to backup Dock.app first), and restart (or just log out and back in or, just restart the Dock by typing killall Dock in the Terminal).

After doing this repairing permissions is actually a good idea...

i dont seem to have core services in library

did you look in the library folder in the folder called "system", note the path is root(right when you open the disk)/system/libaray

cant seem to find it..

As soon as i open finder
i go to suraj which is my name where all the files are there such as library , pictures , public , movies etc

Then i go to library and cant find coreserv.

No... GO directly on your HD. Then find the folder System. In that there should really only be one folder, called Library, and in that you'll find CoreServices.



I am beginning to suspect that you might be in over your head on this one and rather should try, and probably spend $13 on Candybar or similar...

One more thing. the icons i downloaded from net are they png files only

I just have to delete the orignal findor png anf put this rite??

Basically, yes... you will have to authorize this with your admin password, though...
