I don't have a picture, but I tripped with a 3GS in my front pocket once. Fell onto it on gravel... Safe to say it was toast!

Screen completely and utterly shattered and wouldn't even turn on anymore, was just a white screen. Oh well, lesson learned - don't carry phone with the screen facing out in pockets

I have only dropped my phone twice and the case took the damage both times.

I wish I had a photo, but my iPad 2 had been run over by a car when I was given it by a friend (insurance covered it and didn't want the destroyed one back). There was a significant bend in the metal casing, needless to say the LCD and digitizer were trashed, but I was able to whack the case flat again with a hammer and fit new parts. Has been working great for nearly a year now

I'll never forget your little, nubby volume rocker or the way you could spin for minutes at a time when set on a smooth surface. Here's the fairly standard screen damage from a nauseating angle:

Screen damage aside, the huge dent in the back is what really did the 'Pod in. It fell out of my pocket, into the sofa, and was pressed between a bar and my… entire body, really.

I love the look of the silver backs on these but they seem designed to get destroyed.

Here you go - apart from the missing plastic trim around the digitizer, it looks pretty good. You can see the stress marks in the plastic from where it was bent (can't believe the front camera survived). I usually keep it in a rubber case, so the missing trim doesn't bother me.

In total I spent about £60 getting this iPad working again. It did take a whole day of removing the shards of broken glass though, using a hairdryer to soften the adhesive

Considering what it went through that looks amazing. I have seen people with iPads in much worse conditions just from being careless in daily use. Good work!

More common then you think. Cracked my iPhone 3GS 2 weeks before the iPhone 4s came out. Almost had a nervous breakdown. Have use outer box cases on them ever since.

In boston places fix iPhones for 50-70 bucks for everything but water damage

here are some pictures. both broken sort of on purpose.

iPhone 4. bought it off ebay because it was on iOS 5.1.1. when i got it , i found out it had a bad esn. had a really bad experience with the seller, and ended up keeping the phone but ebay gave me a refund. i dropped it a few months after i bought it, then i took the back off to see what the logic board looked like. ended up cracking the back in 3 pieces, and glued it back together. ended up dropping it again, and the screen was completely shattered. so i took it apart just to do it, and when i was doing that, my friend persuaded me to take apart the loci board so i could see the a4 chip. when i did so, a capacitor broke off, and i decided it wasn't even worth reassembling. here it is today. or most of it

lol actually, it already was extremely shattered. i just took out all the screws.

I'm pretty good at keeping my devices in overall good shape, but they still have some small amounts of damage.

My MacBook Pro has a really unusual dent that I can't explain:

Also there's the regular chipping of the aluminum (but that's to be expected):

My iPad has some really weird marks on the back that I'll post later.
