Hi all!

For about 1 month ago I tried to submit an app to App Store but I got rejected and the reason was this:

20.2 - Official rules for sweepstakes and contests must be presented in the App and make it clear that Apple is not a sponsor or involved in the activity in any manner

Then I wrote to a employee for Apple and he replied: "Hello,

To be in compliance with 20.2 it would be appropriate to have explicit statement that Apple is not affiliated with contest.

We are looking forward to your further response.

Best Regards,

Apple Review Team"

But the screen which shows what you would be able to get from my app. At that screen I had already made this text:

But as I've written above, they did not think that text was enough...?

So here comes the question: Do you have any idea to what I can do to make it clear that apple is not a sponsor. Could I pop an alert at start of the app, where there would be written that Apple is not a sponsor. Or what would you do???

-Thanks

It is a little hard to understand your english on the screenshot, perhaps ask/hire someone to translate it from your native language

Your colour scheme is worse than some of Apple’s.
They wouldn’t give that the time for their eyes to adjust let alone read it.

One thing you might try is putting it in the user’s face in black and white
for the first program session only.
You could write a key, set it to 1 on the App’s first launch so that when the
key is checked on the first launch it has never been written yet.

That way you could be in your face with a banner, but not show the bold one again.

Okay, could you also suggest an alert which says that instead of that yellow text?

----------

It's my first app submission so I know I maybe sounds like a huge noob:-(

I didn’t actually notice the English.. told you I wouldn’t read it :D

The simplest thing I can think up:
“Apple is not affiliated with this App,
or a sponsor of any competition presented in the App."

Thaannnnkkkss! But would you place that text in an alert at the start of the app or in another window??

I appreciate it!

First, you really should get this re-written as the English is poor. From a conversational or social point of view it may be okay as we get the gist but not from a product point of view.

Second, placement depends on your app of which we can only see 1 screen from your post. So it really depends and it does not look like Apple is complaining about placement so much as about their desire to be prominently disassociated with your sweepstakes.

Uh yea, forgot to tell that this is not at the main screen, it's a window which pops up when you have clicked a button, my "What can I win button";-)

You could use an alert and have in only pop up once at first launch,
or if the App was deleted and re-downloaded.

I would say have a checkbox or button that the user has to hit to acknowledge that the message was presented to them - whether they actually read it or not is their own problem.
