I connect to the iPad by wifi but of course there is no internet sense it is connecting directly to the WD My Passport Wireless Pro.

Would like to be able to use the iPad at the same time online on the internet while playing videos/media from the WD My Passport Wireless Pro over local Wifi, sense it is connected to the drive wirelessly directly.

Is this possible ?

I know I could just use a 2 TB iPad but my WD My Passport Wireless Pro is 4 TB. I need more space than 2 TB.

Yes I will watch media/videos in PiP on the iPad so I can still use the internet at the same time.

Don't want wires. Plus this is a base level iPad a usb drive would not work with it anyway.

I don't believe so. The iPad can only have a single wireless connection at a time and in your scenario, that connection is to the WD. One option, of course, is to copy the media you want to watch at the moment - not everything - from the WD to the iPad and then connect the iPad to the Internet over a WiFi connection; play the media locally, not streaming from the WD.

Read the manual. It’s on chapter 5.

Yeah I’ve done this before with a WD Wireless Drive, albeit not an SSD and it worked fine.
I now do the same with a Raspberry Pi and a connected SSD
