So in the last two years I’ve moved from android to iOS with an iPhone X and iPad Pro 12.9. I also have a 3 series watch. The only missing link is an ageing PC around 7 years old with Windows 7 on it.

So I’m thinking of buying a Mac but a Mac Pro is close to £5000 here in the UK, a Mac just over £1000. I can get a powerful PC for that money, is the extension to my Apple environment worth the extra money?

Bear in mind that the PC only really gets used once every couple of months because the iPad does most of the work.

What do you think?

If you with 'Mac' for just over £1000 means an iMac, you can always check the used market.
If you don’t use your computer more often then you say, that might be enough for you.
But the syncing etc might get you to use the computer more often, you'll love it.

Most people who wants to buy a new iMac now, is waiting for the upgrade of the product line.
I wouldn’t even consider buying a new before the fall event, and see what’s are presented there.

Remeber that Mac is much more expensive then PC, especially if you compare the kind of internals it have, it’s always been the case. You buy for the total experience.

It sounds like you don't even use the computer so I see no reason to buy a mac at all.

wow if I were a large poodle and can ride a bike like that,
i would get a mac mini, say 2012. so we can upgrade the ram and hd in the future.
plug that baby into a hdtv and we are ready to apple!
now, time to go for a walk!
