I am new to the tagging scene and have been doing a lot of research on best programs to tag movies for importing into itunes and playing on ATV2. Went through metax and was disappointed as it would tag the movie but when I import into itunes nothing would be updated.

Just downloaded iDentify and am pleased, yet confused. I was able to tag the entire season of dexter, a total of 12 gigs in less than 3 minutes. Is this possible? I feel like there is a setting off. Metax took at least 20 minutes for a 2 gig movie. Please help.

Thanks.

No this is normal its a great program and if you have spare $$$ then send the developer a donation.

I've used it to sort out loads of TV shows and films, it changes the metadata in seconds.

I have questions about this. Some apps rewrite the whole file while others just tag the existing file.

I think this has to do with optimize and hinted streaming for QuickTime and iOS devices.

I saw a post where the developer of identify changed the optimize/rewrite to off. Not sure why but he mentioned that it is now defaulted to off and is the better way if you are tagging media on an external drive.

I've tried several versions of iFlicks and some have a "flatten to QuickTime" option to tag the existing file while some other versions require rewriting to a new file.

Anybody know the difference, if it is still necessary to rewrite the file?
