Hi, I recently bought a mac pro to strip down for parts (mainly needed the logic board). It was an Early 2008 with a single 2.8 GHz processor. Long story short, ended up not needing the logic board so i'm going to put it out eBay. But when I was recording the serial number I noticed that the part number on the board was 630-7997 (and not 661-4449). After digging, i've found two conflicting sources for which Mac Pro model the logic board originally shipped with. One site said it's an alternate part # for the 2x3.2 GHz early 2008 model (whose standard part number is 661-4676), while another post said it belongs to the 2006 version of the Mac Pro.

Does anyone know which version of the logic board I have? If it is the 3.2 GHz version, would it be able to run the 2.8/3.0 processors? I'm somewhat concerned because I don't want to be accused of fraud/misrepresenting the board when I put it on eBay.

Seems that product number does match 3.2 one. It will run all SLAN* Harpertowns without problem. One of MR members is running 5472s on this exact logic board. Certainly not MP 1,1 part.

1,1 and 3,1 boards do differ visually from each other, mainly by risers slots and northbridge location. Easy to recognize.
